mastersketchup.com - easy to follow tutorials by Matt Donley. Really easy. Sometimes I have no patience to watch youtube lessons, some of them are far too slow and boring. Matt Donley have got a talent to explain the essentials in a minimum words. I was very pleased to realize that I know many of those tricks, but there were several vital bits, for example I was looking for the way to align the objects and I found it here. I will definitely come back to explore every tutorial on his web site.
I have sent out my previous set after the last Christmas holidays and seems like it is unavoidable, this one is not going to be done before Christmas too. I really tried, but being realistic I need a several days in a row to dive into my project. Continue reading
No I did not finish my 6.2 project yet. I moved house and had to live two weeks without internet at my new place! I do not know how people could survive without it. I need it to register my new address with all suppliers and authorities, I need it to communicate with my friends and relatives, i need it to do my course project! I am so happy to be back. Feeling a bit lost with my project though… It is like I still do not have a clear routine what goes after what, I have got my workbook started, and my reflective journal (sometimes I am not too sure where to put my finds or ideas, workbook or RJ?), I built up the 3D model in SketchUp (my computer is not powerful enough to deal with it, too slow now and drives me nuts), now I am juggling with three of them, jumping from one to another. Shell I finish completely one room up to the list of materials and suppliers or is it better to work on all of them at the same time keeping the whole concept in mind? Tried to render some views with markers today and see now that I need to practice more in sketching… In panic. Stuck. Anybody say to me the famous British KEEP CALM AND KEEP GOING.
By the way, I found a good blog about sketching and rendering, some theory, videos, links to other sketchers sites, check it out: Drawing+Hand.
My hugs to all Open Learning Students. Keep going people. Keep going!
Another great web resource for tutorials, tips and tricks. SketchUp is my unbeatable choice for 3D modelling, but what to choose for rendering? When I make time to explore this site I will know the answer
I did not win the MoneySupermarket challenge, but still very happy I did it, the old chester looking fresh and cozy, thank you MoneySupermarket for budget and inspiration! Back to projects now. I now see the point in reflective journal for particular project. It helps to categorize the ideas and to extract the best ones. Somehow the general look of my flat starts to appear.
Step by step I am working on 6th module. Most of paperwork is done, all letters, terms and conditions, purchase order. Before I started the purchase order I checked if there is a software to do the job for me. None for that particular task, but I found that there is a lot of various software exists for small business accounting. What is good as I am really thick in this kind of stuff. Seems like Kashoo, Wave Accounting and Sage One Accounts are the best and there are many more. Some of them are free, some with additional features like time tracking or customers database.
