Project 4.4. did require a sampleboard as a part of submission. The company I used the product from does not provide nonreturnable samples and I was not clever enough to contact tutors before submissions with that issue. The sampleboard could have been done using photographs of unavailable products! I did not know that and sent the booklet only, so I have got 11 points of possible 20.

Tutor’s comment: This is an exciting proposal that meets with the aspirations of the hair salon as a brand and the clientele. A sampleboard showing the other two samples and with images of the unavailable finishes would have been acceptable.
The booklet is neatly presented but it is missing important specification details such as is the floor resistant to chemicals? Is it slip resistant when wet? Is it comfortable for stylists to stand for long hours on? maintenance and cleaning instructions? etc. For this type of commercial client this type of detail goes hand in hand with the design.
